Marking my 25th year in Student Affairs, 2010 promises to be a “milestone year!”
Beginning in 1984, as an intern in the Office of Orientation at University of Michigan, student affairs has been my passion. After earning an A.B. from Michigan, I moved east to Boston. While working at Boston University, I earned an Ed.M. in Policy, Planning, and Administration-Higher Education Administration.
Discovering the “joys” of research and thinking critically about issues in higher education in my masters program, I decided to purse a Ph.D. at New York University--while I didn't complete the dissertation, the time spent in the doctoral program was well spent.
For the past 11 years, I have worked at Community College of Philadelphia in a variety of position within Student Affairs. I bring a collaborative, broad-view approach to student affairs. I have brought this outlook to my work with PCPA - especially serving the last four years as the 2-Year East Member at Large on the Executive Board. While always keeping the student perspective front and center, I have worked in a variety of positions – both within (orientation, parent programs, registrar, campus information, student activities) and outside (institutional advancement, academic affairs, community relations) of student affairs. It would be an honor to continue to serve PCPA as the Two-Year East representative
